ABOUT ME

I was born in Manila but have lived most of my life in Sydney. I love the ocean and the bush. Photography is one way I am able to share my 'conversation' with nature. I include not just photographs but poems, journal entries, thoughts, ideas, and links to my other published works.

BRIEF BACKGROUND

I worked as a journalist with the Philippine Broadcasting Service in 1970; completed my Mass Communication course at the University of the Philippines in 1971; left the Philippines, December 1972; worked in Papua New Guinea as Press Secretary for the Opposition Leader in 1973; arrived in Sydney in April 1974; worked as a Communication Teacher/Head Teacher with NSW Technical and Further Education from 1975-2004; completed other courses in Education, Sociology, Theology and Aboriginal Studies in Sydney; involved in community work with Filipino Australians and with the Aboriginal reconciliation movement; awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2004 for services to the community in the areas of social justice, multiculturalism and reconciliation; currently involved in photography, poetry, journalism, and Aboriginal and Filipino storytelling projects.
